Project Server 2010: Post SP1, June 2011 CU, Excel Services Issues.

After you have installed SP1 and the JUne 2011 CU, reports using Excel Services, might not work anymore, and it might just give you a Warning in the bottom of the browser and it will continue "Loading" but nothing will happen.

An error similar to this might be found:

An internal error occurred.
at Microsoft.Office.Excel.Server.MossHost.MossHost.Microsoft.Office.Excel.Server.Host.IEwaHost.IsSecureConnection()
at Microsoft.Office.Excel.WebUI.EwaCUIDataSource.EnsureDocument()
at Microsoft.Web.CommandUI.CUIDataSource.RunQuery(UIQuery query)
at Microsoft.Office.Excel.WebUI.EwaRibbon.QueryRibbonDataSource(CultureInfo uiCulture, String clientID, Boolean denormalizeImareUri)
at Microsoft.Office.Excel.WebUI.EwaStringsHandler.ProcessRequest(HttpContext context)

This is due to a known bug in the SP/CU, and only when the Root web App does not have a site created. So all that needs be done is to create a blank site on the root using the blank Template. I will then reboot the server to have the changes commited.

Project Server 2010: SP 1 and June CU : A Post Mortem

So its been a while since SP1 and the June CU has been released (And The June CU "Recalled and re-released") All i can say thusfar is "great"! I have installed at a few client now and have not had any issues whatsoever, apart from some items that we have logged long ago that still does not work as expected.

I have not had one installation fail neither during install or the PSConfig Part. I have seen though on the technical forums, that there has been some complaints here and there, and with all due respect top the users, most of this i will assume was caused a a pre-existing technical issue with the Farm.

The most notable thing i have noticed, if something that was failing already existed before installing SP1 and June CU, it will not fix an issue that is currently happening, but it will stop any future issues.

If you guys have come across any issues please let me know!!

Project Server 2010: Timesheet.Incorrect.Mode Issue remains unresolved Post SP1!

Allot of us and client as well has an error with time sheets that resubmitting a TimeSheet that has not been Recalled You get an error :

Details: id='3204' name='TimesheetIncorrectMode' uid='9608dc37-5d5a-4922-890f-3290ddd8b298' mode='3'. Queue: GeneralQueueJobFailed (26000) -

More detail can be found on the MS Partner Forums : http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/projectserver2010general/thread/ef309488-9ea7-4b2a-aaa3-096e22f530e8

After installing SP1 and June CU11', I have tested this inhouse for a few days now and it seem to still be happening after adding more hours to a already approved timesheet (Which IMHO should not even be possible) and submitting it still happens :

So it seems we have to control this issue using a "Policy" - which is the last thing i think that should be policy driven. Your comments on this will be welcomed

Project Server 2010 SP1: Known Issue with Rules.

Hi all,

A bit of a hickup with an approval rule that has already been setup on your server, after you have installed SP1 ? Its a know issue. Have a look at : http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/hh272536.aspx#section7.

In a nutshell MS reccomend you re-create the rule.
